CONTEST REPORT – NUS MUSCLE WAR

17 Jan 2009 saw 2 signature bodybuilding events. At 2pm, Vivo CITY Amphitheatre Level, 35 muscle warriors from various tertiary institutions showed up at the NUS Muscle & Fitness WAR. There were there to do battle for 3 titles, namely the 170cm & below Classic Bodybuilding Champion, over 170cm Classic Bodybuilding Champion & the Open Category Champion.

In the 170cm & below, Koh Zhi Jian’s combination of Size, Shape and conditioning wowed the judges and audience alike to emerged as the decisive winner for this category.

	In the over 170cm class we had a strong line up of 14 athletes vying for 1st place honors. An enthusiastic Mohd Farhan (winner, 2008 Mr. Cairnhill) put up a good challenge with eventual Ou Zhi Qi (5th place Asian Juniors 2008). Zhi Qi displaying a good combination of Size & Conditioning wowed the Judges to capture 1st place in this category.

	The Open Category gathered a full line up of 15 athletes. Here the battle was fierce as many of them looked good enough to capture the title. After the dust cleared the Over 170cm champion Ou Zhi Qi had to settle for 2nd place with the champion going to the balanced and complete physique of Jonas Asis Tam.
